Feedback from one of our campaign managers:
I have found the action list and switchboard very difficult to manage as an administrator for the following reasons: - cancelled and completed actions show up on the default view. The only "open items" view is for your own action items not to review the whole population of action items - It is very difficult to identify if all action items for a particular idea have been completed and there is no notification to the administrator (you have to sort the action items and then search for the idea you're interested in and manually tot up) - It's unclear on the switchboard whether there are any open actions on the idea you're looking at - Rejected ideas and Approved ideas show up as default on the switchboard view and even if you hide the idea in the front end, they still show in the back end. This makes the ideas list very messy and hard to navigate (I'd rather only see what i need to action). In addition, these ideas just continue More... |

Feedback from one of our campaign managers:
We have been using Webstorm for a few months now and have discovered one thing we think could be immensely useful. We have evaluation groups set up (which work fine), but when the idea needs to go to a decision maker to make a decision on whether to go forward there is no way to do this without asking them to fill out a new evaluation questionairre and they cannot automatically see what other evaluators have said without having administrator access to the system. In our business, the people running the campaign as administrators do not have the seniority to make decisions to approve ideas. There is no need to an idea decision maker to have full administrator access to the campaign as it gives them access to way more functionality than they need to have and it enables them to do things they really should not have the access to do in the system. I propose a new role profile is made available "DECISION MAKER" or "IDEA REVIEWER" or More... |

The "Download Ideas" report has been a very powerful report to analyse the submissions at campaign end. It would be great to have such a report on Webstorm as it not only lists all ideas, but also contains the idea descriptions and any comments made by the community.
An enhancement of the report would be to add column a column showing all tags under which the ideas have been classified. |

Add a List of My Subscribed Ideas widget. This widget would be great placed within My Profile so users have the ability to quickly see and manage the ideas they have subscribed to. This features seems just as important as the list of My Idea Widget and the widget that shows list of ideas the user has commented on.

We've noticed in Switchboard that when you request a "view all" it does not show a progress symbol or "hourglass" to let you know a large system request is being performed. We believe this is the case with any large requests but are uncertain if that is true. It would be nice to indicate progress or that the system is processing your request in some way to let the user know that the system request has occurred and is being processed.

The evaluation tool allows building a questionnaire and the switchboard dashboard provides a simple way to visualize the data. How could we use it to survey without using an external 3rd party?
How to Create a WS campaign. Submission form has title and a description, detailing the purpose of the survey. Generate one idea. Close submission, votes, comments. Go to switchboard, define the evaluation form to capture the survey questions. To get the number of respondent, assign 1 point per each multiple choices of the first question that is mandatory. The score will be the number of respondents. (alternative – see below) Assign the evaluation action item to a group that you have defined in switchboard (groups are distinct in sb versus ws). The users would get a memo with the link to fill the survey. Select the only idea listed. Survey sponsor can see the tabulated data by clicking the evaluation summary for the idea within SB < More... |

Tags: evaluation_forms evaluations
As a system administrator I want to be able to use the same evaluation form across many campaigns. Many of our campaigns are about products and are evaluated on similar criteria. I would like to be able to copy an evaluation from from one campaign to another. It would save me a lot of time and make the process of creating evaluaiton forms much lee tedious.

As a system admin, I work 99% of my time logged in with my account, and so of of course I can see all the tools, hidden widgets and ideas, etc. I think it would be really useful for system admins to have a link, button, or some other option to click that would show the site as ordinary users without my privileges would, to remove the need to logout and login as a test account. Not sure if this would potentially be a problematic security issue, but I would think that since I am already logged in as an admin, my credentials are known to system, so showing me what those lower in the permissions hierarchy can see would not be a threat and would be really helpful and speed up testing and QA.

Tags: entreprise profile report
From the KB entry: Statistics on how many users have populated their profile? we can get a list of users who have updated their profile. However, the report is per webstorm, not for the whole entreprise. As such, I cannot tell how many of my users have populated their profile and what level of social networking activity is going. I would like to get a report, or way to compile one, to gather stats on how profile are used. |
